The Desert is Fertile: Preparing for Christ in our ordinary lives
Christmas 2009 was well and truly alive in the Fitzroy community with hundreds of people of all ages and cultures turning out to celebrate the Faith Festival held last December 13th.
The event, hosted by All Saints Parish Administrator Fr Thinh Nguyen, and Principal Mary Lawrey of Sacred Heart School, was the first in a series of festivals taking place throughout the Archdiocese.
“We have been looking for ways to bring the community together and the Faith Festival was a great opportunity for us, it was a wonderful celebration.” Fr Thinh said.
The festival also included an outdoor Mass celebrated by Bishop Tim Costelloe, while young students of the nearby Sacred Heart School provided pockets of entertainment from dancing, to singing performances to various Christmas-inspired art demonstrations.
