Faith Festivals 2010
The Faith Festivals are a new initiative of the AOFE and will be held four times each year in various regions of the Archdiocese at key liturgical moments (Lent, Pentecost, The Assumption and Advent).
The hope of this initiative is pastoral: to find new strategies - simple and practical - to encourage deeper reading of the Scriptures and for bringing the Scriptures into a more central place in the life of the Church in the Archdiocese of Melbourne.
A key emphasis of the festivals is to outreach to new audiences. They will be strongly multicultural and make significant use of imagery, art, drama, ritual and music in Proclaiming the Word.
They will seek to make connections between the local and universal Church with the presence of an inspiring speaker from the wider sister churches of Asia, Africa and Latin America.
